INTRO TO YOGA: Holistic Practices for Every Body
with Josephine Kelly
Thursdays 7:00-8:00 p.m | January 11 - February 1, 2018
$65 for all four classes - preregistration required by January 8
In this 4-week series explore everything that yoga has to offer.
Let go of the idea that you need to be flexible or strong:
if you can breathe, then you can do yoga!
Together we’ll discuss the spiritual origins of yoga, learn breathing techniques to relieve stress (pranayama), and practice foundational postures (asana).
By building strength and releasing tension, we’ll become more present in our bodies. The more present we become the more we engage with life from a deeply authentic place. Along the way you may encounter a clearer mind and a grateful heart. Perfect for people new to yoga or anyone hoping to learn more about yogic traditions.
Each week will include a brief lecture/discussion (topics below) as well as
an accessible movement practice with plenty of individualized instruction.
Week 1: What is Yoga?
Week 2: Breathing Techniques for Stress Relief
Week 3: Foundational Postures
Week 4: Developing a Personal Practice
