July 20-22, 2018:

Level One: The Art & Science of Deep Rest & Renewal

July 20: 7-9 p.m.  |  July 21: 12-7 p.m.  |  July 22: 12-7 p.m.
What is Restorative Yoga?
Although many types of gentle practices may be considered "restorative" in nature, "Restorative Yoga" as a method is a very specific practice of conscious relaxation in supported postures. Using support (from props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, sandbags, straps, floor, chairs, and walls) allows the body to remain comfortably in shapes that would otherwise required sustained physical effort. The practice is done seated, reclining or prone with each posture lasting 5-25 minutes. These specialized techniques work with the deepest layers of the nervous system to resolve tension, heal the nervous system, and restore energy, mobility and access deeper layers of strength.

What to Expect
The Level One training is primarily designed as continuing education for certified yoga teachers but is open to other certified healing professionals such as massage therapists, occupational & physical therapists, pilates/fitness instructors.
The weekend will include lecture/discussion about the nervous system, the science of relaxation, and the philosophy and art of teaching of Restorative Yoga.

Through practice and demonstration we will explore:
  • a full range of Restorative Yoga postures (forward bends, backbends, twists and inversions)
  • adjustments/modifications for all bodies & needs
  • the art of sequencing
  • creative use of props
  • building the container of a restful class

You will leave with the tools to deepen your own practice, teach full length restorative classes, add restorative yoga into active classes, and offer restorative yoga to your private clients.

$295 early registration by June 15, $365 thereafter.
- includes $100 non-refundable deposit.
- refunds minus deposit accepted until July 1.
- Certificates of Completion & Yoga Alliance CEU's offered to those who complete all 15 hours

Meet Nicole

I have been studying Yoga for 25 years and was fortunate to be introduced to Restorative Yoga (RY) in year two of my Yoga journey. So, when I was asked to teach a Restorative Yoga class fresh out of teacher training, I jumped at the chance to share what was already a beloved practice for me!
The "rest" is history ;)

During nearly 15 years of teaching regular weekly restorative classes, countless workshops and privates, I have truly seen it all. I have gorged myself on studies in anatomy and physiology, especially the function and repair of the nervous system. I have experimented and refined the offering of RY to a fine art. Although I recently retired from teaching a regular weekly RY class, I am passionate about sharing the practice in workshops, retreats, and especially in transmitting it to the next batch of compassionate beings so more people can benefit from this powerful practice. As my dear friend said, "Nicole, you're like the Michael Jordan of Restorative Yoga. It was so sad when you retired, but now you get to be a great coach."

Team Resto to the rescue!
Pros go slow,
Nicole
